Recipe makes 12 gyoza
75g minced chicken
12 ready made gyoza sheets
2 chopped spring onions
1cm piece of chopped ginger
1 crushed garlic clove
1 tsp soy sauce
1 tsp oyster sauce
1 tsp coconut oil
Dipping sauce Ingredients:
1 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp rice vinegar
1 tsp sesame oil
Blitz spring onions, garlic, soy sauce, oyster sauce & ginger in a food processer.
Tip above ingredients into a bowl, add minced chicken and mix by hand until all ingredients are evenly combined.
Hold dumpling sheets in palm of one hand and place a heaped teaspoon in the centre of the sheet. Dip your finger in water and wipe around the edge of the sheet (when closing this helps the sheet stick together).
Fold sheet over making a filled semi circle, pinching the edges to ensure the filling remains inside.
Heat pan with coconut oil. Fry one side of the gyoza on high heat for about 2 mins until crispy. Then add some water to pan, reduce heat to medium and place lid over the pan. Cook for a further 4 minutes until the water has evaporated. Depending on the size of the pan you can cook all at once or in batches of 4-6.
Thoroughly mix the dipping sauce ingredients. This is supposed to be a thin sauce packed with flavor to give the taste an extra kick!
